TAG conferred Josephine Dias Puroskar upon Laneesa Mascarenhas, released ‘Directory of Tiatr Artists 2024’, ‘Report of the Activities’ & gave away prizes of Kantaranchem Daiz

Tiatr Academy of Goa conferred Josephine Dias Puroskar upon Laneesa Melanie Mascarenhas, an upcoming child artiste for her contribution to tiatr, its song and music. The award consisted of citation, memento and cash amount of Rs. 10,000/- The award presentation ceremony was followed by release of ‘Directory of Tiatr Artists 2024’, ‘Report of the Activities – April 2023 to March 2024’ and prize distribution of ‘Kantaranchem Daiz’ (15 th Konkani Kantaram Singing Competition) on 04 th August 2024 at 3:30 pm at the Multipurpose Hall of Directorate of Art and Culture, Patto Panaji

Shri. Antonio Fernandes, Ex-MLA of Santa Cruz Constituency was the Chief Guest while Shri. Menino Fernandes (Menino de Bandar), Ex-President of Tiatr Academy of Goa was the Guest of Honour. Smt. Josephine Dias, a senior tiatr artiste was the invitee. Laneesha while expressing her feelings thanked the Tiatr Academy of Goa for recognizing her contribution in the field of tiatr and bestowing upon her Josephine Dias Puroskar 2024. She also thanked all the directors who gave her an opportunity to act and sing in their tiatrs. She showcased her talent to the audience by singing a song.

Chief Guest Shri. Anthony Fernandes appreciated Mr. Arvind Dias for sponsoring the Josephine Dias Puroskar in his mother’s name when she is alive. He further said that this award will give inspiration to young artiste’s to contribute to Goan Tiatr and to preserve it for future generations. Guest of Honour Shri. Menino Fernandes thanked Fr. Doel Dias in a special way for taking the responsibility of the directory on his shoulders. Invitee Josephine Dias and her son Arvind also spoke on the occasion. Upon the request of the audience Josephine rendered a song ‘Ostori’ which received huge applause.

Fr. Doel Dias spoke on the ‘Directory of Tiatr Artists 2024’ while Shri. Sagun R. Velip, President of TAG spoke in detail about the ‘Report of The Activities’ of Tiatr Academy of Goa.

At the beginning Shri. Sagun R. Velip, President of TAG welcomed the audience. Shri. Suresh Divkar – Member Secretary of TAG proposed the vote of thanks.

The programme was compered by Agnelo Fernandes (Agnelo Borim). Mafaldina Moreira and Uprita Asolkar co-ordinated in organizing the programme.
