TAG’s 6th Inter HSS/College/University Level Tiatr Competition to begin at Vasco from Sept 29

The Tiatr Academy of Goa (TAG), in collaboration with Ravindra Bhavan, Baina-Vasco, is set to organise the 6th All Goa Inter HSS/College/University Level Tiatr Competition 2026-27. The competition will be held from 29th September to 7th October, 2026 at 3:30 p.m. daily at Ravindra Bhavan, Vasco.

Over the years, this competition has emerged as a vibrant platform for the student community to showcase their artistic skills and keep alive Goa’s traditional art form of Tiatr. A total of seven educational institutions from across the state will stage their Tiatr presentations.

The competition will open on 29th September with Kala Academy’s College of Theatre Arts, Ponda presenting ‘Munisponacho Dhorm’ written by Avinash Chari and directed by Shrikant Gaude.  It will be followed on 30th September by St. Xavier’s College, Mapusa staging ‘Tuje Vinnem…’ written by Fr. Luis Gomes and directed by Nilesh Mahale. On 1st October, Parvatibai Chowgule College, Margao will present ‘Guneav Konnacho?’ written and directed by Shane Jaydon D’Cruz.

After a day’s gap, on 3rd October, DCT’s S. S. Dempo College, Cujira will showcase ‘Dev Nirmita Toxem’ by writer Velriza Pereira and director Maverick Alvares.  Further on 5th October, Carmel College, Nuvem will stage ‘Khori Girestkai’ written by Cialini Fernandes and directed by Agnelo Dias.  On 6th October, Goa University, Taleigao will present ‘Xim-mer Asonk Zai’ written and directed by Anil Pednekar. The final presentation on 7th October will be ‘Tunch Amkam Pav’ by Govt. College, Quepem written by William Fernandes and directed by Gautam Gaude.

TAG President Shri Anthony Barbosa has appealed to all Tiatr lovers, students and the public of Vasco and nearby areas to witness the performances in large numbers and encourage the young talents.

This initiative is aimed at safeguarding the legacy of Tiatr and inspiring young Goans to take up writing, direction and acting in Tiatr.
